Our article is devoted to the difference
between two synthetic past tenses in Hill Mary, which we denote as
Aorist and Perfect. The difference between Aorist and Perfect is
usually explained in terms of evidentiality or time distance (from
the moment of speech). We will consistently disprove these
explanations and offer our own hypothesis, which is based on the
concept of perspective point: Aorist is used in contexts adjacent
to the perspective point, while Perfect used in contexts, when
there is a time distance between the perspective point and the
described event.
