About the Journal

The journal “Acta Linguistica Petropolitana. Transactions of the Institute for Linguistic Studies” was founded by Nikolay N. Kazansky in 2003.

It is a peer-reviewed journal publishing articles on current linguistic issues. The key topics addressed include theoretical linguistics, comparative, areal linguistics and linguistic typology, the Russian language and other languages of the Russian Federation, as well as language acquisition, history of linguistics, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, linguistic pragmatics, and related disciplines. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fall outside these lines of research.

Articles can be published in Russian, English, German, and French.

Every manuscript submitted to the journal is sent to one or several reviewers appointed by the Editorial Board. When choosing reviewers, the conflict of interests is avoided (reviewers should not be affiliated with the same institution as the author or have published papers in collaboration with the author during the last five years). Each author receives at least one review (or a substantiated refusal). The Editorial Board is committed to observing all accepted ethical standards for scientific publications.

The journal is published three times a year as both paper and electronic editions. All issues are available on-line. The last issue is available here.

The journal operates on a no-fee open access basis: the journal does not charge any publication fees, all publications are freely available to the reader on the journal's website immediately after publication. All content of the journal is published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

Each publication is assigned a DOI.

The journal is indexed in Russian Science Citation Index (Web of Science Group) and Scopus.

Manuscripts are submitted by e-mail to the following address: acta_linguistica@iling.spb.ru. For more information, see Submission of papers and Guidelines for text formatting.
